This proposal outlines the non-fiction book Northwind Studio is developing for Acme Co. It covers the concept, the reader it is written for, the hook that separates it from the shelf, and why now is the moment for this title.

Objectives

• Establish the concept and the audience with a clear positioning statement.
• Deliver a publish-ready manuscript on the agreed schedule.
• Support the marketing launch with materials the publisher can plug in.
• Build the author platform so the book lands with an audience already waiting.

Scope of Work

The project runs across three phases. Each closes with a written deliverable and a review with the editor before the next begins.

What is included

• Complete manuscript on the agreed word-count target
• Editorial rounds with the assigned editor
• Sample marketing plan for the launch window
• Author bio and platform brief for the publisher
• Comparable-titles analysis and market position

Not included: cover design (publisher provides), copy editing (publisher standard), audiobook production, and foreign rights work. New scope can be added in writing at any time.

Investment

The advance is paid across the milestones below. Line items map to the phases in the scope of work.

Payment Schedule

Invoices are due within 15 days of each milestone. Delivery dates flex with editorial feedback, subject to the target manuscript date you provide on the acceptance page.

Acceptance

To proceed, complete the fields below and sign. This proposal is valid for 30 days from the date on the cover.
