Today, I am thrilled to share that Bonsai has entered into an agreement to be acquired by Zoom.

This moment marks a major milestone in a journey that began 10 years ago with a clear mission: empowering solopreneurs and small businesses to run and grow their businesses with confidence. Since then, we’ve built a loyal customer base - from designers and developers to architects, consultants, marketers, and beyond - that has helped shape Bonsai into an intuitive, powerful platform for client engagement and business management.

And now, this vision enters its next chapter with Zoom, as Bonsai’s relentless dedication to professionals will benefit from Zoom’s resources, global technology and AI leadership. Together, we will continue to build the future of work for solopreneurs and small businesses, one where every professional is empowered with smarter tools, seamless experiences, and boundless opportunities to grow.

Why Zoom

From our earliest conversations, it was clear that Zoom shared our belief that technology and simplicity should make work effortless, empowering small businesses to connect with clients and deliver their best work. Zoom’s AI-first approach to productivity and collaboration perfectly complemented Bonsai’s expertise in client and business management.

Together, we plan to create a unified experience that helps solopreneurs and small businesses manage their entire client workflows from first contact to final payment, with the intelligence and scale that Zoom’s ecosystem makes possible.

What’s Next

Following the close of the transaction, which is expected by the end of the year, Bonsai will remain a standalone platform retaining its brand. Over time, Bonsai’s capabilities will be incorporated directly into Zoom. Our focus remains the same: building the most intuitive and efficient platform for solopreneurs and small businesses to manage and grow their businesses, soon augmented by Zoom’s AI-first Workplace products such as Meetings, Webinars, Team Chat, Zoom AI Companion and Docs.
