Parties and Production

This agreement is entered into by Northwind Studio (the "Videographer") and Acme Co (the "Client") for the production described below. Replace the sample details with the specifics of the shoot, locations, and delivery formats before signing.

On-location shoot days with a small crew and one camera package.

Hero brand film plus three short-form social edits.

Recitals

The Client wishes to engage the Videographer to plan, shoot, and edit video content aligned to the Client's brief and brand. The Videographer has the crew, equipment, and post-production capability to deliver those cuts on the schedule agreed below. This contract supersedes any prior verbal or written understanding on the same subject.

Production Scope

The production runs across three phases. Each closes with a written deliverable and a review meeting before the next begins.

PHASE 1 · PRE-PRODUCTION

Pre-production

Creative brief, treatment, shot list, and a shoot schedule that accounts for locations, interviews, and permits. Includes casting or talent coordination where the Client is responsible for talent releases.

PHASE 2 · PRODUCTION

On-location shoot

On-location shoot days with a small crew, one camera package, and standard sound and lighting kit. Media is backed up in duplicate at wrap and moved to the Videographer's editorial storage.

PHASE 3 · POST-PRODUCTION

Post-production and delivery

Editorial, color grade, sound mix, and titles built to the treatment. Two rounds of consolidated Client feedback are included before final delivery in the agreed formats and aspect ratios.

What is included

Pre-production planning, treatment, and shot list
On-location shoot days with crew and camera package
Backup of raw media and archive for 12 months after delivery
Editorial through picture lock with two rounds of revisions
Color grade, sound mix, and final masters in agreed formats

Not included: licensed music, voiceover recording, motion graphics beyond simple titles, drone permits, and travel outside the local area. New scope can be added in writing at any time.

Fees and Rights

The engagement is a fixed-fee production billed against the three phases. Additional shoot days or cutdowns are quoted separately.

Rights and Usage

On full payment, the Client owns the final deliverables and holds the rights required to use them on the agreed channels. The Videographer retains ownership of raw footage and the right to include the finished work in a portfolio unless the Client requests otherwise in writing.

Acceptance

About this template

The Videography Contract template is a five-page document for putting a video production on paper before shooting begins. It carries a production overview with stat cards, recitals, a three-phase scope, a fixed-fee investment table, and an acceptance page with inputs and signatures.
