Parties and Engagement

This agreement is entered into by Northwind Studio (the "Agency") and Acme Co (the "Client") for the social media services described below. Replace the sample details with the specifics of your brand, channels, and campaign calendar before signing.

Recitals

The Client wishes to engage the Agency to plan, produce, and publish social content aligned to its brand and audience goals. The Agency has the strategy, production, and community management capabilities to deliver those services on the schedule agreed below. This contract supersedes any prior verbal or written understanding on the same subject.

Services and Deliverables

The Agency will manage the Client's social presence across the agreed channels. Work is grouped into three phases so both sides share a view of how each month runs.

PHASE 1 · STRATEGY AND CONTENT PLAN

Strategy and monthly plan

Monthly content calendar built from campaign themes, product moments, and channel-specific formats. Includes a planning call, competitive scan, and a written brief approved by the Client before production begins.

PHASE 2 · PRODUCTION AND PUBLISHING

Production and publishing

Copy, static designs, and short-form video edited from Client-provided assets or produced from templates. All posts are scheduled through the Client's publishing tool with captions, hashtags, and alt text ready for review.

PHASE 3 · COMMUNITY AND REPORTING

Community management and reporting

Daily monitoring of comments and DMs during business hours, escalation of sensitive threads to the Client, and a monthly performance report with reach, engagement, follower growth, and recommendations for the next cycle.

What is included

Monthly content calendar approved before production begins
Copywriting, static graphics, and short-form video edits
Scheduling and publishing across the agreed channels
Community management during business hours, Monday to Friday
Monthly performance report with recommendations for the next cycle

Not included: paid media budgets, influencer fees, professional photo or video shoots, translation into additional languages, and 24/7 crisis coverage. New scope can be added in writing at any time.

Fees and Term

The engagement is billed as a monthly retainer covering the services described above. Additional scope is quoted separately and added in writing.

Term and Cancellation

The initial term is six months. Either party may cancel after the initial term with 30 days' written notice. On termination, the Agency delivers final calendars, source files for completed work, and returns access to Client-owned accounts.

About this template

The Social Media Contract template is a five-page document for locking down a social retainer before the first calendar goes live.
