Recitals

The Client is engaging the Designer to develop a primary logo mark and a compact identity toolkit for use across digital and print applications. Both parties agree that a clear brief, timely feedback, and honest input are essential to arriving at a mark the Client is proud to use for years.

Scope of Work

The project runs in three phases. Each closes with a written deliverable and a review before the next phase begins.

PHASE 1 · DISCOVERY AND DIRECTION

Discovery and direction

Kickoff call, brand questionnaire, and a short moodboard or direction document that captures the audience, tone, and visual territory the logo should live in. Approval of the direction unlocks concept design.

PHASE 2 · CONCEPTS AND REFINEMENT

Concepts and refinement

Three distinct logo concepts presented in context (light, dark, small size). The Client selects one direction, which is then refined across two revision rounds until the mark is signed off.

PHASE 3 · FINAL FILES AND TOOLKIT

Final files and toolkit

Final logo files in vector and raster formats (SVG, PDF, PNG) in primary, monochrome, and reversed lockups, plus a one-page usage sheet with clear space, minimum size, color values, and don'ts.

What is included

Brand questionnaire and one 60-minute kickoff call
Three initial concept directions presented in context
Two rounds of revisions on the chosen direction
Final logo files: SVG, PDF, and PNG in primary, mono, and reversed lockups
One-page usage sheet covering clear space, sizing, and color values

Not included: full brand identity systems, packaging design, website design, illustration, motion, and print production. New scope can be added in writing at any time.

Fees, Rights and Terms

The project is a fixed-fee engagement billed across the three phases. Line items map directly to the deliverables in the scope of work.

Ownership and Usage

On receipt of final payment, the Client owns the approved final logo and usage sheet outright, worldwide, for all commercial and non-commercial uses. Unused concepts and working files remain the Designer's property. Either party may show the final work in a portfolio unless the Client requests otherwise in writing.

About this template

The Logo Design Contract template is a five-page document for putting the arrangement on paper before it starts. It carries a cover, a parties and purpose page with stat cards, a scope or terms section broken into three tracks with obligations, a fees or reference table with a computed total, and an acceptance page with inputs and signatures.

It is intentionally simple: rename what needs renaming in Bonsai, adjust the terms to match your engagement, and set the numbers. Merge fields handle the party names and date, and the last page collects the details you asked for, an authorization checkbox, and both signatures.
