Parties and Assignment

This agreement is entered into by Northwind Studio (the "Interpreter") and Acme Co (the "Client") for professional interpretation services on the assignment described below. Replace the sample details with the specifics of your event, then review the terms on the following pages before signing.

Recitals

The Client wishes to engage the Interpreter to provide professional interpretation services at the event described above. The Interpreter is a qualified professional bound by the confidentiality and accuracy standards of the profession. Both parties agree to the scope, fees, and terms in this contract, which supersedes any prior verbal or written understanding on the same subject.

Services and Preparation

The assignment runs across three stages so the Interpreter can prepare and deliver high-quality interpretation on the day.

STAGE 1 · PREPARATION

Preparation

Client shares agendas, speaker names, slides, glossaries, and any reference material at least five business days before the assignment. Interpreter reviews and builds a working glossary specific to the topic.

STAGE 2 · ON-SITE OR REMOTE DELIVERY

Delivery

Interpretation delivered in the agreed mode. Simultaneous assignments over one hour are staffed with a second interpreter working in shifts of no more than 30 minutes to maintain accuracy.

STAGE 3 · WRAP

Wrap and follow-up

Short post-assignment note covering any glossary updates and issues to address for future sessions. All source materials and notes are destroyed within 30 days unless the Client requests otherwise.

Working conditions

Minimum booking of two hours; single sessions over 45 minutes count as full-day rate
Break of at least 15 minutes every 90 minutes of continuous work
Interpretation booth, headsets, or platform meeting technical standards
Line of sight to the speaker and access to slides on a secondary screen
Recording of the interpreted audio requires prior written consent

Not included: translation of written materials, sign-language interpretation, technical equipment hire, travel outside the local area, and overtime beyond the booked hours without approval. New scope can be added in writing at any time.

Fees

Fees are structured around the booked days plus preparation time. Overtime and travel outside the local area are billed at the rates below.

About this template
