Ghostwriter Contract

An agreement from Northwind Studio covering the ghostwriting engagement, phases, deliverables, and copyright transfer.

Parties and Overview

This agreement is entered into by Northwind Studio (the "Writer") and Acme Co (the "Client") for the ghostwriting engagement described below. The Client will be credited as the sole author and the Writer agrees to the confidentiality terms in this contract.

Objectives

• Capture the Client's voice through interviews and reading.
• Deliver a manuscript ready for the Client's publishing path.
• Keep the process confidential end to end.
• Transfer full copyright on final payment.

Scope and Deliverables

The engagement runs across three phases. Each closes with a written deliverable and a review meeting before the next begins.

What is included

• Structured interviews and voice capture
• Chapter-by-chapter approved outline
• Monthly chapter deliveries with feedback rounds
• Copyright transfer on receipt of final payment

Not included: editorial services from a separate editor, cover design, agent representation, and marketing. These can be arranged separately by the Client.

Fees and Payment

The project is a fixed-fee engagement billed across the three phases. Line items below map to the phases in the scope of work.

Payment Schedule

Invoices are due within 15 days. Copyright and full rights transfer on receipt of the final payment.

Acceptance

To proceed, complete the fields below and sign. This contract is valid for 30 days from the date on the cover.
