Artist Contract

An artist commission contract from Northwind Studio covering the commissioned work, materials, and delivery of the finished piece.

Overview

This contract sets out the commissioned work Northwind Studio will produce for Acme Co. It covers medium, size, delivery, and copyright, with clear terms on revisions and payment.

Objectives

• Deliver an original piece the Client is proud to display.
• Keep the brief and revision rounds clear from the start.
• Cover materials, delivery, and copyright terms in writing.
• Provide a predictable payment schedule for both sides.

Scope of Work

The commission runs in three stages. Each has a defined deliverable and an approval checkpoint before the next begins.

What is included

• Kickoff brief and reference conversation
• Preliminary sketches for review and direction
• One work-in-progress check-in with photos
• Finished piece with certificate of authenticity
• Packaging and shipping to the Client address

Not included: custom framing beyond standard protective packaging, third-party reproduction rights, exhibition or event installation, and international customs or duties. Additional scope can be added in writing at any time.

Fees and Payment

The commission is billed in two installments. Copyright remains with the Artist; the Client receives the physical piece and a personal-use display license.

Payment Schedule

Invoices are due within 15 days. Work is not scheduled in the studio until the deposit is received. Copyright remains with the Artist.

Acceptance

To commission the piece, complete the fields below and sign. Studio time is reserved once the deposit is received.
