How much should you pay your freelancers?

To determine the pay rate of a freelance Full Stack Developer, first estimate the project value, or expected revenue. Why do you need a freelance contract?

Establish a contract with your Full Stack Developer to protect everyone involved. The contract helps you avoid late deliveries by setting hard deadlines and milestones. It clarifies payment terms, including budgeted amounts and expected turnaround times. It also protect against discrepancies regarding intellectual property rights and content ownership.

Full-Stack Developer Contract
This Contract is between Orange Computer Inc. (the "Client") and Jane Smith LLC, a California limited liability company (the "Freelancer").The Contract is dated [the date both parties sign].

1.1 Project. The Client is hiring the Developer to do the following: Build back-end infrastructure of new Android App including 7 API endpoints.

1.2 Schedule. The Developer will begin work on February 16, 2017 and must finish the work byMarch 16, 2017. 

1.3 Payment. The Client will pay the Developer a flat fee of $1,500.00 (USD). Of this, the Client will pay the Developer $500.00 (USD) before work begins. 

1.4 Expenses. The Client will not reimburse the Developer's expenses. 

1.5 Invoices. The Developer will invoice the Client at the end of the project. The Client agrees to pay the amount owed within 15 days of receiving the invoice. Payment after that date will incur a late fee of 1.0% per month on the outstanding amount. 

1.6 Support. The Developer will not provide support for any deliverable once the Client accepts it, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
