Bonsai handles the back office

In UK, an increasing number of Back-end developers have started freelancing. Hence, an increasing number of startups are contracting freelance Back-end developers to join their employees. However starting a freelance-client work is still hard because the price charged by those contractors, for instance in UK, are varying a lot depending on the freelancers' experience.

To increase the visibility on the price points at which freelancers should bill clients, Bonsai built an easy-to-use rate explorer to support both independent workers and companies hiring freelancers in finding the right rates.

The information assembled by Bonsai shows the price discrepencies. For example, 91.74% of Back-end developers incorporated in UK bill 60 or more hourly rate (with a maximum of 3-year experience). Within that group, Back-end developers who have been paid from 60 to 80 are two times as many people as the ones billing between 40 and 60 hourly rate. In comparison with the second category of people, they form a group of around 175.00% more people.

In comparison data shows that for Back-end developers with 3 to 5 years experience:

  • - Most ofthem are paid between 120 and 140 for every hour of work
  • - Only 1.37% of them are paid 180 or more for every hour of work
  • - On the opposite, 1.00% of Back-end developers cost less than 20 for every hour of work
  • - There are four times as many freelancers charging more than 80 compared to freelancers earning 80- for every hour of work
  • - 19.18% of freelancers bill from 100 to 120 hourly rate while 14.38% of freelancers bill from 100 to 120 per hour
  • - 7.53% of Back-end developers charge between 60 and 80 per hour, however they are only 10.00% for freelancers with more than 5 years of experience
